Woodwork industry sees growth in export turnover, but faces challenges.

This result came from province-based woodwork enterprises’ efforts in promoting trade, investing state-of-the-art technologies, diversifying production patterns, especially outlining strategies for business and production development in line with the current situation.
One of the industry’s advantages is to possess a consumption market which is expanded to hundreds of countries and territories worldwide. Good business climate herein is also seen as an advantage to promote the evolution of the industry. Currently, the province is home to more than 500 woodwork enterprises, accounting for 25% and 50% of total enterprises and export value of the whole country in the industry.
However, province-based woodwork enterprises have faced hurdles for change; including the lack of orders from customers, mutual cooperation and assistance between enterprises…They have also expressed concern over the loan program with the 4% preferential interest rate under the Government’s demand stimulation package. In fact, few enterprises can enjoy the loans for their production and businesses as there are too many requirements from the State bank.
According to Binh Duong Furniture Association (BIFA), helping province-based woodwork enterprises remove their current hindrance is the top task. Through BIFA, woodwork enterprises’ above problems will be quickly handled in the coming time.
